| Additional Tuition Pattern Information: | Students are expected to do computer lab two hour, eight times per semester. |
| Syllabus: | Data and image manipulation in both the spatial and frequency domains will be discussed, with opportunities for practical experience in the computer laboratories. Sampling at different spatial, temporal and spectral resolutions will be performed, as will image degradation and manipulation/corrective processes. The technological features and issues of health information systems (Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) including their components, workflow, communication standards Health Level 7 (HL7) and Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM)), and image / data security in relation to digital radiographic practice will be discussed. Solutions to address the issues of these systems including their current and future development will be analysed. |
