Course Overview
Master Degrees (Coursework) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for professional practice, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications.
This course features guided independent study, team projects and extensive use of information and communication technology towards the development of international business and global managerial competencies. This courses offers six streams including an elective stream, Business of Mining stream, Predictive Data Analytics stream, Human Rights stream, National Security stream and an International Relations stream.
Professional Recognition
Graduates may wish to join the Academy of International Business (AIB) or Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA) for knowledge sharing relevant to the field of international business.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks and other essential study materials.
Course Entry and Completion Details
Applicants for a Master Degree (Coursework) are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://futurestudents.curtin.edu.au. Subject to the duration of the course applicants usually require a Bachelor Degree or equivalent (and may require relevant work experience), Bachelor Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.
Specifically, applicants for the elective stream, Predictive Data Analytics stream, Human Rights stream National Security stream and International Relations stream require an undergraduate degree in any discipline. Specifically, applicants for the Business of Mining stream require a Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering or metallurgical engineering, mining geology, mine management, supply chain, governance, mining finance, economics and commerce. Applicants with other qualifications and experience may only be admitted at the discretion of the Post Graduate Course Coordinator. Mid-year intake students would be preferred to demonstrate professional practice and be currently employed by an existing mining or resource company, but not essential and dealing with operational and/or planning work duties in or about the mine. Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. CRL
Applicants with a minimum of two years leadership experience in a senior role, in relevant industry settings, will be eligible to apply for Credit for Recognised Learning (CRL). Students need to submit a CV and documented evidence of the relevance and the complexities of the experience of prior learning. This could include such evidence as, references, letter/s from an employer, evidence of professional development, executive education courses, completion of MicroMasters or Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs), a portfolio showing field, volunteer and service work and learning, and community engagement, to be considered for up to 100 credits points of CRL set against the elective stream. Units will not be specially mapped but will be based on general credit for the four elective units

Course Entry/Completion Note
Students enrolled in a prescriptive stream may elect to transfer to the elective stream. In this event the relevant Head of Department shall determine the amount of credit to be transferred to the elective stream.
Course Organisation
Master Degrees (Coursework) contain a series of units in a specialised area of study which may include compulsory (core), optional or elective units to cater for student preferences. They may also contain a range of majors/streams for students to choose from.
Course Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:

2. Respond creatively and effectively to generate innovative solutions to complex issues in international business.
3. Make evidence-based judgements and sound business decisions through sophisticated evaluation and synthesis of information from a range of credible sources.
4. Communicate professionally and effectively, through written and oral means, to diverse stakeholders within the ethical and professional framework of international business.
5. Consider profitability, sustainability and impact of the business environment and society when using new and established technologies in international business communications and negotiations.
6. Actively seek and engage in opportunities for ongoing learning that builds the body of professional knowledge in the field of international business and contributes to their personal development.
7. Evaluate the impacts of international business in a global system and apply international standards and practices with in a global context.
8. Engage in ethical and culturally competent management practices to work effectively in culturally diverse team environments within global organisations.
9. Work professionally and ethically both independently and collaboratively, complying with appropriate legislation and protocols and demonstrate leadership skills as appropriate.
Duration and Availability
This course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Stream availability varies with some units available during the evening, some units available online. Business Mining stream is available via intensive delivery at Curtin Perth campus. International onshore students on student visas are not permitted to study on a part-time mode. Specific stream availability: *STRP – HRIGH = This stream is offered at Curtin Bentley only via internal and online delivery. Students are advised to contact the fees office for relevant fee information before enrolling. *STRP-NATSC = This stream is offered at Curtin Bentley only via internal and online delivery. Students are advised to contact the fees office for relevant fee information before enrolling. *STRP-BUMIN = This stream is only available in Trimester 1 and Trimester 2. This stream would require students to attend intensive classes at Curtin Perth campus. *STRP-PREDA= This stream is offered at Curtin Bentley only. Students are required to attend classes at Bentley campus. *STRP-MIBEL = This stream is offered at Bentley campus and nominated offshore campuses. Students are advised to contact international office for offshore availabilities. *STRP-INTRL = This stream is offered at Curtin Bentley only via internal and online delivery. Students are advised to contact the fees office for relevant fee information before enrolling.
