UNIT REFERENCES, TEXTS, OUTCOMES AND ASSESSMENT DETAILS: The most up-to-date information about unit references, texts and outcomes, will be provided in the unit outline.
Syllabus: This unit will focus on pre-calculus algebra and trigonometry. Students will also broaden their knowledge of functions in completing both sketching and interpretation of linear, quadratic, reciprocal, exponential and cubic functions. Students will develop a basic understanding of matrices and the necessary background in preparation for study of differential calculus, including limit theory, differentiation and developing optimisation skills and strategies. Further study based around chance and data focusing on set theory and Venn diagrams as well as understanding and interpreting spread of data, skewness and linear regression.
Further Information: The Enabling Course in its current form is service taught at both Canning and Tuart Colleges. The entire course is under review and initial recommendations are to reduce the number of assessments currently in place.
