Syllabus: | Physiology is the study of the functions of an organism. This unit looks at the importance of the cardiovascular system in maintaining blood pressure to ensure that all organs and tissues are provided with an adequate blood supply; the responsibility of the respiratory system to obtain oxygen from the external environment and ensure that sufficient quantities reach the respiring tissues, and the renal system, which filters blood to ensure that body fluid composition and acid-base status is maintained within homeostatic limits. |
