Syllabus: | This unit will explore behavioural health science perspective of mental illness. Critical appraisal of mainstream diagnostic classification of major mental illnesses. Global context of mental illness. Psychosocial interventions to assist people living with major mental health/illness issues. Students will explore the partnership-in-care framework in the formulation of assessment, treatment and management models, and application to nursing practice. Accountability and social justice issues will also be explored. |
