Syllabus: | Use a systems approach to assess, diagnose, plan, manage, document and evaluate patient care. Therapeutic interventions relating to cardiovascular, respiratory, neurovascular and elimination support. Assess and manage care needs of people with confusional states. Apply therapeutic communication, critical reasoning and meet nursing competency standards in selected clinical contexts. Medication (oral, topical, inhalation) preparation, administration and recording, dosage calculations, legislative control. Introduction to pain assessment and management, including complementary therapy. Fluid balance maintenance, monitoring and documentation. Wound care and removal of sutures. Continence (bowel and bladder elimination) and emesis management. Apply chronic condition self-management support skills. Standard precautions. Adult resuscitation in clinical contexts. |
