Syllabus: | Introduction to mine geology and resource estimation process. Drilling methods in mining and drilling databases. Geological control and 3D visualization and modelling of ore body. Sampling theory, sampling methods and QA/QC. Principles and methods for estimating mineral resources. Grade and tonnage estimations using classical estimation methods. Economic factors (cut-off grades) in mining geology. Introduction to geostatistics; variograms and simple kriging. Grade control from mine to mill. Ore loss, dilution and reconciliation. Basics of process mineraology. Reporting of resources and reserves, using the JORC code. |
