| Syllabus: | An introduction to the nature and classification of deformation structures in rocks and the processes that cause them. Projection methods for analysing and interpreting three-dimensional geological structures. The principle ore minerals and their identification. The mineralogy, morphology and origin of the major types of mineral deposits. Industrial minerals, fossil fuels, and groundwater. Mineral exploration including geochemical and geophysical methods, and an introduction to mining geology. |
