Syllabus: | Planning and pedagogy of authentic forms of arts education are addressed through the curriculum subjects of Media and Visual Arts. The Australian National Curriculum provides the framework for planning sequential, inquiry-based and engaging learning opportunities for children in an integrated primary school curriculum. Pedagogical understandings and practices that support children’s creativity, self-expression, meaning-making and communication of ideas are emphasised. Experiential learning opportunities facilitate the development of practical understanding of the scope and nature of arts learning across the primary school years. Personal media and visual arts literacy are promoted as the foundation for teaching within a lifelong learning framework. |
