Syllabus: | Conducted in conjunction with an equivalent Construction Management and Economics unit. Students from both departments interact in roles of architect, contractor and quantity surveyor. The lecturers act as clients, and students undertake an assignment requiring them to act as architects, designing and documenting a variation to a building under construction and incorporating the variations into the building contract. This involves utilising skills and knowledge previously gained in a wide range of course units. Interaction with the roles of the Construction Management students is by way of recorded weekly meetings. |
