MJRP-VISTE v.1 Visualisation Technologies Major (MMedCom)
Major/Stream Overview
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information.
This major is one of five in the Master of Media and Communication course. Visualisation Technology refers to the innovative use of images and interactive technology in a range of applications such as spatial “mapping” and surveying, architecture, engineering, commerce, gaming, media and communication, art, geography and security, health and education. Virtual and augmented experiences, multi-touch interfaces, mobile device views and social networks mean users can see, explore and share relationships, experiences and insights in new ways. The use of such technologies is spreading rapidly, and there is an increasing demand for graduates to have an understanding of and skills in applying them in their area of professional practice or research. This major is designed to provide you with advanced skills and insights to be able to use these technologies and devices in your current or future professions or creative practice. You may choose to develop those skills in association with another media and communication discipline or specialise in visualisation technologies as an area of professional practice or research in its own right.
