Major/Stream Overview
This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information.
The Acute Care Nursing Stream has been developed for the nurse who is working in the clinical area and wishes to expand their professional competence to an advanced level whilst concurrently undertaking an academically sound course which embraces evidence based practice and critical thinking. This stream focuses on a broad range of acute care nursing practice, both from an acute care perspective and chronic disease management model. The structure of the stream recognises the growing complexity of the acute hospitalised patient with multiple co-morbidities impacting care requirements.
Major/Minor/Stream Organisation
Students need to stay in original stream as this is linked to the employment sector and scholarship.
