Course Overview
Master Degrees (Research) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for research, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications.
Specifically, this research-based higher degree develops research skills and advanced knowledge in Indigenous research and development. It is grounded in Indigenous knowledge and discourses.

Course Entry and Completion Details
Applicants for a Master Degree (Research) are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://research.curtin.edu.au/guides. Applicants require a Bachelor Degree with a strong academic performance and may also require relevant substantial work experience or Bachelor Honours Degree (first or second class) or Graduate Diploma. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.
Specifically, applicants require an approved honours degree or graduate diploma with well-above average marks (usually an average above 70), and an adequate knowledge of Indigenous research methodologies. Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Course Organisation
Master Degrees (Research) require students to undertake an approved research program leading to a thesis for independent examination; they may include advanced level coursework studies.
The content of the degree should be determined in consultation with the postgraduate coordinator, Centre for Aboriginal Studies.

This course is two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.
