Course Overview
Master Degrees (Coursework) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for professional practice, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications.
Project Management is a distinct professional discipline, having its own body of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques. It involves managing a project from inception to completion and the successful attainment of the project objectives. This course provides the opportunity to gain the understanding, knowledge and skills necessary for performing the role of project manager. It adopts a generic approach to project management and is applicable to any project in industries such as construction, engineering, education, health, commerce, information technology and research and development.

Course Entry and Completion Details
Applicants for a Master Degree (Coursework) are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://futurestudents.curtin.edu.au. Subject to the duration of the course applicants usually require a Bachelor Degree or equivalent (and may require relevant work experience), Bachelor Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.
Specifically, applicants require a bachelor degree; or Graduate Certificate in Project Management or Graduate Diploma in Project Management or Bachelor Degree.
Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate awards approved for this course:

Course Organisation
Master Degrees (Coursework) contain a series of units in a specialised area of study which may include compulsory (core), optional or elective units to cater for student preferences. They may also contain a range of majors/streams for students to choose from.
Course Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. describe and apply the principles, concepts, tools, techniques and processes of project management
2. think critically to analyse, challenge and adapt concepts and practices of project management
3. critically assess, evaluate and synthesise information in order to undertake project
4. communicate effectively in writing, graphically and orally with various audiences (academic, professional and community)
5. use appropriate technologies to apply the processes of project management
6. use learned skills to continue self development and influence others in continued learning in the project management community
7. have an awareness of international perspectives of project management
8. appreciate the cultural diversity of the wider community as it impacts on project management
9. work ethically as individuals and in teams demonstrating skills in leadership, negotiation and conflict resolution, recognising and valuing the contribution of other disciplines and interests
