Course Overview
Bachelor Degrees prepare students to develop broad and coherent knowledge and skills in a discipline for professional work and further learning corresponding to AQF level 7 qualifications.
This course offers students the opportunity to study one or two disciplines from a wide range of majors. Students choosing only one major will be able to choose further units from the same discipline as their chosen major or may choose units from throughout the university. The first year of the course enables students to choose foundation units suitable to their needs and begin study in their chosen major(s), where appropriate.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks and other essential study materials.

Applicants for a Bachelor Degree are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://futurestudents.curtin.edu.au and include flexible entry pathways. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.
Some majors may require a portfolio or interview.
Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Course Organisation
Bachelor Degrees typically contain a series of units which may include compulsory (core), optional or elective units to cater for student preferences. They may contain a range of majors, streams and/or minors for students to choose from to pursue learning in a specialised area of study.
Students who would like to study two disciplines can select any two majors within Humanities subject to prerequisites and timetabling. The Bachelor of Arts Course Coordinator can provide further details regarding the selection of majors and advice on timetabling.
Course Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. apply broad discipline knowledge in a range of theoretical and practical situations through research and practical application
2. think creatively and critically to generate innovative solutions to complex social, political and artistic problems

7. describe global and cultural issues and their impact
8. demonstrate respect for human rights, cultural diversity and the particular rights of Indigenous Australians
9. work ethically and professionally, both within a team and independently
