| UNIT REFERENCES, TEXTS, OUTCOMES AND ASSESSMENT DETAILS: | The most up-to-date information about unit references, texts and outcomes, will be provided in the unit outline. |
| Syllabus: | This unit will provide students with knowledge and skills to support transition into being education professionals and will enable undergraduate students to make important decisions about how to approach professional learning and development in order to meet contextualised student learning needs. Students examine how important information about their class can be obtained to determine group and individual learning needs and reflect on and evaluate their own current expertise and development. Case Studies will be considered in order to identify contextualised class learning needs and plan personal professional learning that will enable undergraduates, as emerging professionals, to meet those needs. The unit examines how to structure personal professional learning that is targeted, collaborative, and aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Graduate Teachers. Students in this unit will also formulate a general plan for their approach to continued personal learning and growth as they transition into becoming committed, skilled, resilient professional practitioners. Completion of this unit will contribute significantly to preparation for the final internship placement. |
