| Syllabus: | The art and science of effective Health Promotion requires leadership, collaboration, evidence informed and ethical decision making. This unit provides students with a capstone health promotion experience with opportunities to extend learning from previous units and apply this to real world health promotion challenges. Students are engaged in authentic professional activities and provided opportunities to consolidate critical competencies for health promotion practice, policy and research. The unit will cover: knowledge translation, practitioner roles, leadership for health promotion, communication, partnerships, implementation, reflective practice, competencies and grant writing. Students will enhance their skills in teamwork, communication, debate, decision making and creative and critical thinking capabilities through a process of simulation, reflection and experiential learning. |
