| Syllabus: | The advanced level of knowledge on civil engineering hydraulics and hydrology will be presented in this unit. The hydraulic principles related to hydraulic structures (dams, weirs, spillways, culverts, stilling basins), sediment transport and groundwater and momentum principles applied to hydraulic machineries will be presented. The techniques, methods and policies behind planning, design, operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection networks will be applied and evaluated. Other topics related to coastal engineering, computational fluid dynamics, river and reservoir routing and flood routing will be covered. |
