| Syllabus: | The National Competency Standards for the Midwife inform the scope and purpose of this unit. Students undertake clinical practice experiences to develop and deepen learning related to assessment, planning and evaluation of clinical care across the childbirth continuum for the mother-baby dyad. The unit fosters student midwives’ capabilities and continues to develop understanding and use of documentation related to midwifery clinical practice. Evidence informed knowledge and the development of clinical skills for the care of healthy childbearing women and babies is a key component of learning in this unit. |
