| Syllabus: | This unit introduces mental health recovery and neuropsychiatric processes across the lifespan. Student learning is focused around mood disorders, psychosis, anxiety disorders, aetiology, trajectory, clinical features, and, impact on occupational performance. The unit explores multidisciplinary biological and psychosocial interventions, mental status evaluation, awareness of diagnostic classification systems, theoretical frameworks in mental health context; as well as mental health ethical and medico legal issues and introduction to risk management. The occupational therapy process, clinical reasoning and the application of occupational therapy models including CMOP-E are critical elements of students’ learning and development in this unit. |
