| Syllabus: | This unit explores the key determinants of health and global chronic health conditions. Students investigate pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis and apply clinical decision making to support self-management of individuals with adverse health events associated with chronic disease. pain, stress, altered healing, altered mobility. Topics covered include: obesity, arthritis, musculoskeletal conditions, anxiety, depression, immune dysfunction, fluid and electrolyte disturbances and Diabetes Mellitus. The unit provides an introduction to pharmacology. |
