Syllabus: This unit introduces students to key concepts and approaches in the Science learning area in order to investigate, understand and communicate about the world around them. Science teaching and learning skills, strategies and concepts will be developed through an appreciation of scientific literacy, learning theory, science curriculum and science pedagogy. The four conceptual areas of Earth and Beyond, Energy and Change, Life and Living, and Natural and Processed Materials, along with the process area of Investigating, will be developed. This unit emphasises an inquiry approach to science where developmentally appropriate hands-on and minds-on, authentic and contextual experiences are incorporated
