This is a multidisciplinary course designed to provide specialist training in an area of public health for graduate students. Students have the option of selecting a major and will graduate with one of the following awards: Graduate Certificate in PublicHealth (Applied Epidemiology and Biostatistics); Graduate Certificate in Public Health (Children's Environmental Health); Graduate Certificate in Public Health (Health Communication); Graduate Certificate in Public Health (Health Informatics); Graduate Certificate in Public Health (Health Policy and Management); Graduate Certificate in Public Health (Health Promotion); Graduate Certificate in Public Health (Nutrition) or the Graduate Certificate in Public Health (Sexology).
Applicants usually require the equivalent of a bachelor degree or advanced diploma but , in certain cases, relevant work experience may be recognised.

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
This fee-paying course available in both internal and external study modes is of one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study. Where possible, classes will be scheduled in the evening to accommodate students already employed. This course is also available to international offshore students. The following majors are not available to international onshore students on student visas as they are only available part-time or externally; Applied Epidemiology and Biostatistics ; Children's Environmental Health; Health Informatics and Sexology.
Students select a major upon admission to the course. Part-time students should discuss their study plan with the course coordinator. Students wanting to enrol in other units related to their major that are available in other areas within Curtin, cross institutionally or internationally should discuss this with their course coordinator (this may have an impact on the total course fees). Students should check for availability of units in the online handbook as they may change.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
