This course is the prerequisite for entry into the Master of Architecture. The course covers the design of buildings, the technical aspects of building construction, how architecture relates to people and how they live, and the communication of architectural ideas through written and spoken reports, photographs, drawings, models and the electronic media. Students not intending to continue on to the Master may use the knowledge gained in this course to seek employment within the architectural profession or building industry.
None. Non-TEE students will need to apply for an interview with the Course Coordinator of Architecture by no later than 1 December, however applicants are advised to do this as soon as possible. Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
3 years full-time study or equivalent part-time, and a further 2 years full-time or equivalent part-time to obtain the Master of Architecture.
This course does not qualify the holder for registration as an architect or for Associate Membership of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
