Normal development of the nervous system. Nervous system structure and function - brainstem and cranial nerve structure and function and role of hypothalamus. Somatosensory systems - ascending tracts, role of thalamus and sensory cortex. Motor systems - spinal cord control, role of brainstem, basal ganglia, cerbellum and motor cortex in controlling posture and co-ordinated movement. Normal aging in the nervous system. |
