Closed-form solutions. Dimensional analysis. Fundamentals and formulation of the finite element method (FEM), boundary element method (BEM), finite difference method and discrete element methods. Behaviour of deformable materials. Computational models, methods and theory, practical considerations, modelling exercises in 2D and 3D. |
