Examination of the cultural landscapes of urban and rural Australia, including the landscapes of traditional and contemporary Aboriginal Australia - the environmental impacts of European settlement, especially agricultural, pastoral and mining activity over two centuries. Changing attitudes to the landscape as depicted in art, and to the preservation and destruction of landscapes, and the development of a heritage and conservation movement and its impact on modern Australia. |
