GradDipLandcare(Curtin)

Introduction

The course provides integrated training in landcare for graduates from a variety of disciplines who intend to work in this area.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelors degree from a recognised institution. Applicants may also be considered on the basis of the relevance and equivalence of their qualifications and experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is of one year full-time duration, or equivalent on part-time study. The course is offered in two modes for full-time or part-time internal students, who will be able to select optional units from those available on the Bentley campus, and for part-time external students. All core units are available for those undertaking external studies with sufficient optional units to enable completion.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Landcare may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Director, Muresk Institute of Agriculture. Course Organisation

Students undertake prescribed core units and from options to enable development in particular areas. The optional unit list includes some commonly chosen units but is by no means limiting. The research project may be undertaken in an approved field underthe supervision of any approved staff member.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
