| Syllabus: | In this unit, students learn about the pathophysiology, pharmacology and pharmacotherapy for the management of cancers and medical conditions and complications that affect the respiratory, musculoskeletal and endocrine systems. The unit comprises 5 modules. Module 1: Respiratory disorders including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia. Module 2: Musculoskeletal disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and gout. Module 3: Conditions requiring immunomodulators including psoriasis. Module 4: Cancers and complications with use of antineoplastic agents. Module 5: Conditions associated with the endocrine system including contraception, osteoporosis, pituitary and adrenal disorders. |
