The pre-placement class will introduce concepts and theories of workplace culture, developing workplace confidence, career development planning, self-assessment, and methods for identifying and articulating employability skills for a successful placement and relevant to employer requirements. The two mid-placement classes will afford students the opportunity to report on their progress, identify any constraints or limitations, reflect on learning outcomes, and share experiences and stories with peers. It will also introduce concepts of workplace culture, developing workplace confidence, career development planning, self-assessment approaches and methods for identifying and articulating employability skills for a successful placement. The unit provides students with the opportunity to experience active and authentic learning, and make a valuable contribution to the organisation through their placement. A post-placement class enables students to reflect on their overall Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience. It is an opportunity for students to share their experiences and identify how they have enhanced their employability skills - and how this will be communicated to employers.
