Syllabus: | This unit provides an introductory and intermediate level of statistical methods commonly used in public health research. Topics covered include review of descriptive statistics, the concepts of inferential statistics, parametric (t-tests, one-way analysis of variance [ANOVA]), and non-parametric statistical analysis, simple and multiple linear regressions, two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), analysis of covariance (ANCOVA), sample size calculation and an introduction to experimental designs, and use of SPSS statistical software. The emphasis is on practical application and interpretation of results. |
