Syllabus: | The International Nutrition Unit reviews global food and nutrition issues; and nutrition problems from an international perspective. The unit examines the importance of maternal, infant and child nutrition in development; nutrient-disease interactions from a medical, social, economic and agricultural viewpoint. Students study global food systems; genetically-modified foods; disaster and famine management; international community food interventions; nutrition promotion programs and strategies in developing countries. |
