312068 v.1 Corporate Information Management Major

Introduction

This major leads to a professionally recognised qualification in records management and archives. It covers the ability to locate, retrieve and critically evaluate information, gives an understanding of theoretical foundations of information creation andmanagement, especially in a technological environment, and the processes and materials of professional work, in order to meet the needs of client and industry groups. Students are required to take four elective units from the same discipline area which should be outside Information Studies. This major is only available if taken as a double major with the Librarianship major.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Students should complete Recordkeeping Concepts and Practice 103 and Management of Recordkeeping and Archives 102 in first year.
