Introduction

Designed for professional logistics specialists who are interested in significantly advancing their career in the area of logistics and supply chain management. Areas of study include: operations management, transportation and physical distribution, procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, inventory, retailing, global business and logistics, and the role of information technology in facilitating supply chain management. The course will meet the needs of those professionals with technical and supervisory skills in logistics and supply chain management.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree in business, economics or commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution provided the specific discipline in the bachelor degree is different to that of the proposed professional master, or a bachelor degree in a field other than business, economics or commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution, or honours degree, or graduate diploma (in business, economics or commerce), or significant professional experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards 1

A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:

Intermediate Awards II

Graduate Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Graduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Course Organisation

Consists of 12 units of study, each carrying 25 credits, totalling 300 credits. Students will develop a deeper understanding of enterprise logistics and supply chain management including: global distribution and transportation, materials management, strategic logistics and operations management, global business, and the role of information technology in facilitating logistics and supply chain management.

Professional Recognition

Graduates are eligible to apply for membership to The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Association of Australia (LAA).

Career Opportunities

Students who have successfully completed this course generally find employment in management roles within private and public organisations, utilising logistics and supply chain management.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
