Syllabus: This unit provides student with an opportunity to develop their knowledge of the practice of water quality and supply systems. This is achieved by reviewing and critiquing a variety of case studies dealing with the complex issues relating to the sourcing, treatment and distribution of water for human consumption and/or irrigation. These case studies will include examples from large city systems to small rural/village supplies. The impact of current research and new technologies on water treatment and monitoring will also be discussed.
