Syllabus: Human inquiry through naturalistic and experimental designs pertaining to occupational therapy evidence-based practice. The relationship of theory, research and practice. Issues of methodology in design, including sampling, analysis and ethics. A review of measurement and the constructs of validity and reliability for critical analysis of the literature. Outcome research and its relevance to occupational therapy. Ethics in research. Analytical techniques in naturalistic and experimental design. Selection and application of statistical procedures.
