Introduction

The MBA/MSc double-degree course combines the financial and economic resource sector focus of the Master of Science with the internationally accredited business acumen of the award-winning MBA course. Students are provided with a thorough foundation in resource sector management and contemporary business theories. The curriculum has a highly applied practical focus and seeks to equip graduates with a range of analytical and managerial skills.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution and at least three years subsequent, relevant work experience. Graduates from either the Curtin Graduate Certificate in Business or the Curtin Graduate Certificate in Mineral and Energy Economics will be considered qualified for entry. Entry to the course is competitive and applicants will be required to undertake an interview as the final stage of application assessment.

Specific Requirements

The Graduate Board of Examiners requires, unless there are exceptional circumstances, that those with more than two failures in the course be excluded from the course, so as to maintain the high standard expected of such a prestigious qualification.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availabilty

This course may be completed in 2.5 years full-time or the equivalent in part-time study.

Course Organisation

Some units in this course are typically delivered in a blended mode which involves face to face instruction in eight day intensive modular blocks. Other units are available in trimester and flexible package formats. Students must complete 450 credits and a minimum of 40 hours of professional development to graduate with this double degree.

Additional Course Expenses

Student may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
