Syllabus: In Social Science Project 391, students plan, prepare for, undertake and reflect upon professional work projects in their chosen areas of social science specialisation (Asian Studies, Anthropology and Sociology, History, International Relations, Sustainable Development). While each project necessarily has its idiosyncratic academic and professional characteristics, all involve reflective engagement with the real life application of professional skills and capacities, in some instances by means of direct,individually constructed professional assignments and placements, in others by means of detailed, secondary source examination of third party professional practice. Topics examined include research project design and implementation, research and professional methodologies, and professional ethics and processes.
