Syllabus: This unit aims to guide each student in the formulation of their own project or research proposal; in preparation for their IA Dissertation 499. It is intended to provide students with the following skills: the ability to apply research methodologies appropriate to the completion of major projects in interior architecture; an ability to consider issues of design and practice as a form of theoretical and scholarly research; the consolidation of skills in self-criticism; and a methodology for testing personal ideas and approaches; an ability to consider the design of a total research program and its implementation and to relate this to a choice of a research project.
