Syllabus: Introduction to core theoretical concepts, principles and responsibilities essential to contemporary community development practice. Critical discussion and appraisal of historical and contemporary discourses of 'community' and 'community development', including emerging models emphasising capacity building, partnerships and promoting stronger communities. Critical exploration of influences and debates shaping community development practice locally and internationally through case studies of community practice models, programs or strategies.
