Syllabus: Students study those parts of the secondary level chemistry program which are essential for a sound basis in chemistry, plus relevant portions of first-year tertiary level chemistry. Basic concepts, mole concept, stoichiometry, volumetric analysis calculations, oxidation and reduction, chemical bonding, shapes of molecules, intermolecular forces, periodic trends, macromolecular structures and gases.
