Introduction

Nanotechnology encompasses the science and technology of understanding and constructing the 'very small;. There is no single discipline of nanotechnology. The term refers to such fields as biology, physics, chemistry or materials science - any specificfield that deals with the controlled design and assembly of nanostructures. This course aims to educate scientists for careers in nanotechnology through a grounding in any two of the disciplines of chemistry, physics or molecular biology, with a focus on the aspects of those disciplines that have particular relevance to nanotechnology.
