Syllabus: This is a first year level (non-calculus) unit in physics. Topics include fundamental principles in mechanics, units, dimensions, kinematics and dynamics, circular motion, gravitation, mechanical energy, thermal properties of matter, gas laws, simple harmonic motion, wave motion and sound. Fundamentals of experimental methods, including accuracy and precision, interpretation of physical measurements, graphical representation of data and uncertainties in measurements.
