Syllabus: An interpretation of 19th and 20th century architectural ideals, principles and theories, and an examination of the impact of these concepts on Australian architectural and environmental development. Theoretical approaches to concepts of 'community'. The influence of physical, social, economic and political factors on planning, and individuals and land use. An introduction and analysis of 'modernism' and 'the modern movement'. The discussion and analysis of issues facing the architect and the professionof architecture in today's world.
