Syllabus: This unit comprises an advanced academic English program that prepares students from non-English speaking backgrounds for undergraduate and postgraduate study at Curtin University. It is designed to give students intensive language practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. It also focuses on developing academic, task-specific English language. Students complete a variety of assignment types, in order to use a wide range of academic English to communicate in group discussions and listen to lectures effectively. Students also complete research projects based on a topic related to their future subject and give formal presentations.
