Syllabus: Introduction to biopsychosocial processes within a Behavioural Health Science framework applied to nursing. Factors influencing individual responses to illness, including personal skills and abilities, habitual behaviours, emotion and motivation. Introduction to psychological and behavioural problems including stress, anxiety, depression and pain. Psychosocial approaches to improving health and well being of individuals with acute and chronic health problems.
