Syllabus: Clinical placement 156 hours. Evidence informed knowledge and skills related to midwifery practice. Preconception health. Pregnancy care. Common discomforts of pregnancy. Pregnancy, labour and birth, postpartum and early neonatal care. Breastfeeding. Parent education. Neonatal adaptation and resuscitation. Models of women centred maternity care, including-consumer advocacy and partnership. Legal and ethical dimensions of midwifery practice.
