Syllabus: Aims to develop applied research skills (methods and techniques) that enable students to plan and undertake ethical, effective and culturally sensitive research in Indigenous Australian contexts, and that give priority to Indigenous perspectives, and benefit Indigenous people. Students will have an opportunity to practice and develop structured and unstructured interviews, focus groups, questionnaires, document analysis and observational data collection skills and techniques, and to consider the strengths and weaknesses of each.
