Syllabus: This course offers an in-depth study of the business cultures and environments of Japan and Korea. This comparative analysis develops cross-cultural skills in conducting business activities with business organisations and individuals of Japanese and Korean origin, with global perspectives. Topics cover historical interaction, cross-cultural understanding and communication, government-business relations, organisational structure, managerial styles, marketing distribution and strategies, business negotiation and market opportunities for Australian business. It is designed for students who intend to work in Japan and/or Korea, and in their organisations worldwide, to develop their ability to operate in appropriate social and cultural contexts.
