| Syllabus: | Introduction to power electronics in alternate current (ac) and direct current (dc): ac/dc, dc/dc, dc/ac and ac/ac power conversion. Power semiconductor devices: characteristics during steady-state and transient states, calculation of power losses, snubber circuits, selection of heat sinks. Single and three phase uncontrolled and controlled rectification dc/dc switched mode converters: Buck, Boost, Buck Boost, full bridge converters. Simulation of power electronic circuits. |
